CB786 “Nature Access to All (NatAc)”
Good ideas come true! In cooperation with the association of disabled persons and their friends Apeirons we have launched a new, significantly updated version of Mapeirons! The new website contains comprehensive information on accessible sites and services not just in Latvia, but also in Estonia and Finland. It aims to facilitate access to information and serve as a trustful source to everyone to quickly and easility find accurate and correct information about different places.
In 2020, thanks to our cooperation partners – Apeirons, West-Estonia Tourism Association, Parnu Municipality and Parks & Wildlife Finland – the work on the improvement of the webpage, which lasted for several months, finalised. Now, the newly developed site provides an opportunity to search for accessible sites not just in Latvia, but also abroad, by gradually adding more and more new accessible objects and information in other languages. The section on accessible nature trails has been particularly improved, by carrying out comprehensive trail inspections in Latvia, Estonia and Finland in 2019 and 2020 and creating a separate section at the website on each accessible trail. Every section contains a detailed description of the trail, together with consize information on its length, type, as well as other relevant information, incl. photos, helping to easily navigate and understand, what and to what extent is or is not accessible at the particular trail and its surroundings.
We are happy to continue the work on adding more and more accessible sites to the new Mapeiros website and make the world more accessible to all of us! If there is an object that might be accessible to all and has not yet been published on website, contact us by e-mail: mapeirons@apeirons.lv or submit the object through mapeirons.eu!
The new Mapeirons webpage has been developed with support of the Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020 as part of the project CB786 “Nature Access to All” (NatAc).
