S002 “BSR Food Coalition”
On 27.02.-01.03. the Kurzeme Planning Region together with representatives of Ventspils County Municipality took part in the school meals’ (BSR Food Coalition) project meeting in Daugavpils, hosted by the Latgales Planning Region. In the meeting all project partners from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia came together to discuss the survey results in each of the project regions and, based on them, to jointly work out the basic principles for the development of pilot projects in each of the regions.
In Kurzeme it is planned to implement the pilots in at least 2 schools with an aim to introduce more diverse menus, facilitate the presence of locally grown foods in school meals, carry out the training of school chefs through master classes and experience exchanges, a well as a number of other exciting activities!
