Thanks to the warm reception, specialists from the Kurzeme Planning Region and municipalities had the opportunity to witness how even small ideas, the search for solutions, and the pursuit of new approaches contribute to the growth and development of new businesses in the regions. As emphasized by several representatives of the visited companies, it is crucial to seek ways to implement one’s idea, without fearing the possibility of making mistakes, and to encourage both employees and oneself to learn from these errors. It is also essential to engage local residents and employees in the development and creation of the company’s products and ideas as much as possible. This approach allows for a broader perspective and a variety of solutions for different situations. Moreover, a jointly created product or service will be perceived as “ours”, meaning that employees will be more willing to invest additional resources in both the development of the product or service and its market promotion.
The experience exchange event took place within the framework of the Kurzeme Planning Region project No. LV-LOCALDEV-0004 “Entrepreneurship support measures in the Kurzeme Planning Region” (“Entrepreneurship in Kurzeme”). The project is co-financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, through EEA grants in the Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Cultural Cooperation program.
