„SuRuMo“ („Sustainable Rural mobility“)

Objective of the project: to carry out research in pilot areas, collect the data collected and create a single digital platform to find solutions for sustainable mobility in rural areas.

Time of implementation: 01.05.2023.- 31.10.2026.

Project financing: the total project budget of EUR 1,627.227.64, where 80% of EUR 1,301.782.10 ERDF financing and 20% of EUR 1325.445.54 national co-financing, including: KPR project budget EUR 337,701.60, with 80% of EUR 270,161.28 ERDF funding and 20% of EUR 67,540.32 national funding.

Project target group: rural residents in Kurzeme region who have mobility problems or the possibility to get to the center of the municipality to receive services, visit doctors, shops, etc. Students who have problems getting to the school.

Pilot areas of the project:

  • Ziemupe un Grobiņa Dienvidkurzeme county;
  • Alsunga Kuldīga county;
  • Vāne Tukuma county;
  • two rural areas Pļavas un Ķūļciems Lauciene parish Talsu county.
  • 6 partners from the countries of the Central Baltic region – Sweden and Latvia – participate in the project.

Project partners are:

Main activities:

  1. To present the project to the municipalities of Kurzeme municipality and to identify the pilot territories nominated for the project.
  2. Study pilot areas, obtain necessary and available data on pilot areas, perform data collection and analysis.
  3. Create a cross-border digital platform that includes different mobility solutions for citizens and a mobility tool that will be useful to transport planners in the future, where new mobility solutions will be introduced.
  4. Perform test mode testing of availability solutions in pilot areas.

Project activities are being implemented with the support of the Central Baltics Programme 2021-2027.
