The first online seminar of the Light in the Darkness project “Creating the Light in the Darkness Experience” took place on 10th of April this year and is now available to watch on YouTube.com! Several tourism professionals shared their experiences and thoughts on the challenges and opportunities for sustainable tourism development and how to gain more. We heard inspiring examples of businesses and destinations that are innovatively developing their region throughout the year. We also learned the answers to important questions such as: what is the potential of regional and European markets and how to attract tour operators to your region?

Project “Light in the Dark”

Light in the Dark is an Interreg Baltic Sea Region project aimed at developing innovative experiences to extend and create new seasons beyond the traditional summer season. The Challenge Inventory survey is conducted in all participating countries: Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. It is aimed at SME’s in the Northern Baltic Sea region and explores the interest of small and medium-sized businesses in expanding their operations beyond the traditional summer season as well as the challenges they face regarding seasonal variations in tourist flows.
