LL-00231 “Development of the PANORAMA ROUTE” (PANORAMA)

 

PROJECT OBJECTIVE:  To develop the PANORAMA ROUTE, featuring 50–70 panoramic viewpoints in Kurzeme, Panevėžys, Šiauliai, Telšiai and Utena regions. By mapping and opening access to culturally and historicaly significant sites, such as lighthouses, churches, watertowers, and hillforts, the project will foster a unique cross-border route. This initiative creates a richer, more diverse tourism product than isolated national efforts could achieve. It also improves physical and digital access for all and encourages visits to touristically underrated destinations.

PROJECT SUMMARY:  The project will enhance access to 9 panoramic viewpoints, create the Roadgame, publish a Travel Guide, and promote the route on international tourism websites and apps. These key outputs will benefit local communities, tourists, and businesses by attracting visitors year-round and highlighting underrated locations. By connecting culturally significant sites across regions, the project fosters collaboration, ensures inclusivity, and promotes sustainable tourism. It will support local economies, enrich cultural understanding, and provide travellers with diverse and memorable experiences.

Key project activities:

Tourism Product Development

  • Mapping and on-site inspection of potential route sites;
  • Experience exchange visit to Poland (modern technologies and AI in tourism);
  • Training of stakeholders (tourism entrepreneurs, NGOs, as well as representatives of municipalities and nature parks uon ICT and AI in tourism, innovative interpretation solutions for environment and culture);
  • Route development workshops;
  • Equipment &infrastructure improvements at 5 project sites;
  • Digital solutions at 4 project sites.
