The current website www.riverways.eu was created in 2014, and more than ten years have passed since then. During this time, user habits, the devices they use, and expectations for digital solutions have changed significantly. As a result, the existing website no longer meets modern standards and is not sufficiently convenient for its visitors.

Over the years, extensive experience has been gathered regarding user behavior on the site — how and when information is searched, which sections are visited most frequently, and which have proven to be less important. Valuable insights have also been obtained from Google Analytics, while regular communication with industry service providers and equipment rental companies has provided practical ideas about what a modern and functional Riverways platform should look like.

The new website will be available in four languages — English, Latvian, Estonian and Lithuanian — ensuring broader reach and convenient use for visitors from different countries.

Key Features of the New Website

To provide diverse and easy-to-navigate information about water tourism opportunities in the Baltic region, the new site is being developed with the following features:

  • Rivers and routes section with service providers and navigation maps.
  • Lakes section with available routes, services, equipment rental, access points, and other information.
  • Maps and navigation tools for convenient route planning.
  • User registration and the ability to save favorite routes and points of interest.
  • Useful information section with downloadable resources.
  • Social media links and the ability to share routes or points of interest.
  • Service provider profiles with detailed information about their offerings.

The new platform will become a modern, convenient, and versatile tool for every water tourism enthusiast, promoting the accessibility and development of water tourism in the Baltic region.

The project promotes the improvement of water tourism infrastructure and the strengthening of international cooperation.
