Project No.: C037
After several online meetings, the first in-person meeting of the RESIST project partners took place in mid-December 2023 in Hamburg, Germany. The meeting began with introductions among the project partners and working sessions focused on discussing the concepts of social innovation and social ecosystems (hereafter: SI/SE). A shared vision for the RESIST project was defined, and the planned activities for WP1 were reviewed.
During the meeting, parallel working sessions were held to discuss SI/SE support, integration, and development within the partner regions (Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Germany). These sessions also addressed potential SI/SE system advancements and directions for training system participants. The results of these group sessions were summarized, and mutual idea exchanges and discussions followed.
To explore practical examples, participants visited the Oberhafen creative and cultural district, a new urban creative hub focused on sustainability and innovative service delivery, which enhances and strengthens the use of inner-city spaces.
The meeting also included an introductory session on “Clusters of Social and Ecological Innovation (CSEI),” providing a theoretical explanation of the CSEI concept from the European Commission’s perspective and showcasing practical examples.
The meeting concluded with an exploration of Hamburg’s SI/SE ecosystem and discussions about the Hamburg Alliance’s and the RESIST project’s roles. Participants learned how the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region’s PA Education and the RESIST project could benefit from one another. The regions represented by the partners and their SI/SE ecosystems were also introduced.
Together with the partners, the planned actions for WP2 and WP3 were reviewed during the working sessions. The meeting also included a session on project administration and key communication tools.
