CB786 “Nature Access to All (NatAc)”
Another significant step made in the new NatAc project to facilitate natute accessibility in Kurzeme – in the end of September we’ve installed the first out of in total 7 planned dry toilets accessible for people in wheelchairs. The first toilet is located at the walking trail along River Venta in Skrunda.
The toilet has been constructed according to recommendations issued by NGO Apeirons and its installement shall essentially facilitate nature access to disabled persons, as people in wheelchairs often choose not to go to a trail if there are no accessible facilities nearby.
This year we’ve foreseen to install 2 more accessible dry toilets – at Lake Būšnieku trail in Ventspils and Horse Island trail in Liepāja!
The project is being implemented with support of the Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020.
