Project No.: C037
From June 3 to 5, 2024, the second meeting of the “Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystems” (RESIST) project took place in Kristiansand, Norway.
The meeting began with introductions among project partners and working sessions focused on discussing the concepts of social innovation and social ecosystems (hereafter: SI/SE). A shared vision for the RESIST project was defined, and the planned activities for WP1 were reviewed.
Parallel working sessions were held during the meeting to discuss SI/SE support, integration, and development within the partner regions (Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Germany). These sessions also explored potential advancements of SI/SE systems and directions for training system participants. The results of the group sessions were summarized, followed by mutual idea exchanges and discussions.
To explore practical examples, participants visited the Oberhafen creative and cultural district, a new urban creative hub focused on sustainability and innovative service delivery, which enhances and strengthens the use of inner-city spaces.
The meeting also included an introductory session on “Clusters of Social and Ecological Innovation (CSEI),” which provided a theoretical explanation of the CSEI concept from the European Commission’s perspective and showcased practical examples.
The meeting concluded with an exploration of Hamburg’s SI/SE ecosystem and discussions about the Hamburg Alliance’s and the RESIST project’s roles. Participants learned how the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region’s PA Education and the RESIST project could benefit from one another. The regions represented by the partners and their SI/SE ecosystems were also introduced.
During the working sessions, the partners reviewed the planned actions for WP2 and WP3. A session on project administration and key communication tools was also conducted.
