CB786 “Nature Access to All (NatAc)”
One more activity carried out in the new NatAc project to facilitate natute accessibility in Kurzeme – in the end of October we’ve installed the second out of in total 7 planned dry toilets accessible for people in wheelchairs. This time the toilet is installed at the Liepāja Horse Island Nature Trail.
The toilet has been constructed according to recommendations issued by NGO Apeirons and its installement shall essentially facilitate nature access to disabled persons, as people in wheelchairs often choose not to go to a trail if there are no accessible facilities nearby.
This year we’ve foreseen to install 1 more accessible dry toilet, as well as 9 benches along the path – at Lake Būšnieku trail in Ventspils!
The project is being implemented with support of the Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020.
