The Sabile Tourism Center has received Virtual Reality (VR) glasses for testing as part of the Interreg Estonia-Latvia Program 2021-2027 project “Garden Pearls II” (No. EE-LV00038). These glasses significantly enhance the tourist experience and offer a unique opportunity to explore the Sabile Wine Hill from a new perspective.
This initiative was carried out by the Kurzeme Planning Region in collaboration with the Talsi Municipality. According to the conducted price research, the right to purchase the VR glasses and produce audiovisual material was granted to SIA “CRE ATE.”
The VR glasses and filmed content have been handed over to the Sabile Tourism Center in test mode to determine how the glasses and content can be used by people with disabilities. To more professionally assess the suitability of the glasses and content for people with disabilities, an expert from the Association of Disabled and Their Friends “Apeirons” was involved. “Apeirons” confirmed that the glasses and their content are suitable for use by people with disabilities, providing several suggestions that SIA “CRE ATE” will consider in the future content development process.
The VR glasses offer a unique opportunity to view the Sabile Wine Hill from various vantage points, creating an unforgettable visual experience. Tourists can enjoy panoramic views and feel part of this beautiful location, which undoubtedly makes a visit to Sabile even more exciting. Currently, the VR glasses feature exciting views of the Sabile Wine Hill in spring, showcasing how the vines awaken after winter. Work is ongoing on filming and processing for other seasons to provide a comprehensive experience with beautiful views throughout the year. Additional seasons will be added after filming and processing.
The project “Garden Pearls II” activities are carried out with the support of the Interreg Estonia-Latvia Program for the period 2021-2027.
