The Latvian Embassy in Germany has created a virtual exhibition on the website https://freiheit-1991.de/, which also has a timeline, names and explanations of key political figures, as well as a built-in magnifying glass to make the exhibition more interesting.
The author of these unique pictures is the Dutch photographer Joriss van Velzen, who at that time, as a journalist, documented the barricades in Riga. Only 2 photo films have survived to this day.
