LL-00231 “Development of the PANORAMA ROUTE” (PANORAMA)

On 9 June 2026, the 1st Panorama Route Development Workshop took place at the recreation site DabaLaba in Ance and in the area of the Irbene Radio Telescope. During the workshop, participants learned about the project’s objectives and activities, as well as attended presentations on tourism route development and the identification of panoramic viewpoints.

Together with nature guides and local entrepreneurs, we explored how to develop tourism routes, identify panoramic viewpoints and what should be considered when assessing a landscape.

During the workshop, we also visited Ance Dambkalns — an ancient dune, where participants carried out a practical landscape assessment task, as well as the Irbene Radio Telescope, which has already been included in the route map as one of Kurzeme’s most unusual panoramic viewpoints.

Our map currently includes more than 100 sites, but we know there are many more, and we are actively continuing to search for them!

We invite everyone interested to share their discoveries with us. These can be church towers, hills, bridges, roads, building rooftops or anything else that opens up an unusual and beautiful landscape. Share your viewpoint photos on Facebook or Instagram by tagging #latvialithuaniapanorama, or send them by e-mail to: alise.luse@kurzemesregions.lv.

The sites currently included in the map can be viewed here:

The next Panorama Workshop will take place on 6 July. The programme and registration information are available here:

Project activities are being implemented with the support of the Interreg Latvia-Lithuania Programme 2021-2027.
